綜合招生政策，是美國有競爭力大學普遍采用的招生政策，其具體含義是指美國大學全面地評價一個學生，而不是依據一個方面來評價學生，具體做法如美國大學評價學生的中學成績，課外活動，申請作文及標準化考試SAT成績和GPA等，而不是僅僅是依據考試成績(如高考成績)等一個指標來評價申請學生。
在綜合招生政策原則下，美國大學可能會拒絕SAT2300的學生，而錄取SAT不足2000的學生，關鍵是美國大學的這一政策允許多重錄取標準的存在。
這個多重標準對于每個美國大學是個性化的，既每個大學都不一樣，而且不對外不公開。
